MOVIOLA 1928 Sound editing machine being demonstrated by Natalie Edelstein

It’s 1928, and most sound-on-film movies would start to be released the following year. This is among the earliest Moviolas we’ll have seen. Presumably, that’s the optical sound reader head on the left, and the picture head on the right, with the picture-and-track coupling mechanism in the middle, left of the disc-shaped flywheel.

Note that the picture head does not yet have a flat, frosted glass viewing screen, but rather an encased lens, to better see that little 35mm. image.
